World’s largest PEZ collectors convention returns to Northeast Ohio

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (WJW) – The world’s largest and longest-running PEZ collectors convention is once again returning to Northeast Ohio.

PEZamania will be in Independence for its 32nd annual event to celebrate PEZ dispensers, which were invented by Edward Haas in the 1920s.

PEZamania began in 1991 and has hosted the largest gathering of PEZ collectors from all over the world, according to a press release.

Attendees will be able to buy, sell and trade PEZ, as well as learn more about the candy toy, play themed games and meet like-minded friends.

According to the release, PEZamania raises money to support Gliding Stars of Toledo, OH, an adaptive ice-skating non-profit organization that supports those with disabilities.

PEZamania is a four-day event that runs from July 17 through July 20 at the Holiday Inn in Independence on Rockside Road. It requires registration, but the Saturday morning ballroom show is open to the public for free.
