Rock Hill teachers get a big pay bump
ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Rock Hill School Board approved a new budget Thursday which included a pay raise for the district's teachers. Beginning Rock Hill Schools teachers will now have a starting pay of $52,000 a year, which is an increase of $8,259. This pay raise only impacts classroom teachers and not support staff. The increase will go into effect in the fall of 2024 and will be the highest in York County, according to school officials.

The Fort Mill Post 43 Juniors finished the regular season with a sweep of Rock Hill Post 34. Fort Mill won 9-4 over Rock Hill Thursday to finish the regular season at 11-1. The first Rock Hill batter of the game reached base on an error for an auspicious start for Post 43. Rock Hill would load the bases with no outs, but only came away with one run.

180+ Named to NIRA All-Academic Team
National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) has placed more than 180 student-athletes to its 2023-24 All-Academic Team. Sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students with GPAs 3.5 or higher were eligible for selection. Twenty NIRA institutions are represented, and DI Queens University of Charlotte led all programs with 18 selections.
