Over 75 years ago, the residents of our valley formed the Desert Health Care District to bring better health care to our area. It is funded with a portion of our property tax dollars, and it owns Desert Regional Medical Center. Currently the district is in negotiations with Tenet Health Care, who leases and operates Desert Regional Medical Center for the district, as to whether to sell the hospital to Tenet at the end of the next lease. DeMuth Park pickleball courts could double under proposal before Palm Springs City Council
More pickleball courts could be coming to Palm Springs. Next week, the city council will consider a proposal to double the number of courts at DeMuth Park. Costing an estimated $6 million, the pickleball court expansion would see 12 additional pickleball courts built at the eastern end of the park, bringing the total number of courts to 24. City plans for the expansion show additional improvements to the pickleball area of DeMuth Park, including additional bleacher seating and shade structures.
HIGHWAY 111 STREET PAVING PROJECT TO TAKE PLACE JULY 22-24, 2024
July 22-24, 2024, from 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. What: The contractor will grind down the top surface of the roadway and replace it with new asphalt. Also included in the project are minor adjustments to utility covers in the roadway, replacing all traffic striping and roadway markings on the new asphalt surface. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and the use of alternate routes is encouraged to avoid possible delays. Work is being done at night to reduce the impact on the community.
