According to court documents the publication procured, Wayt was married to a woman named Caitlin for less than three years. The duo wed in July 2016 and parted ways in January 2019. Their divorce, which appears to have been straightforward and uncomplicated, was finalized in June 2019. His ex-wife has not commented publicly on Wayt, their marriage, or his disappearance. It is unclear why they opted to part ways.

While Wayt had a short-lived marriage, there isn’t a string of exes looking to speak out against him, at least so far. Despite never having married, Portwood’s relationship history is much more complicated than Wayt’s seems to be. She has dated a string of men since fans first met her on 16 and Pregnant and has been engaged twice before meeting Wayt. Still, no engagement has stuck. This one doesn’t sound promising, either.

During an appearance on Elle Bee , Portwood said she and her then-fiance had an “emotional conversation” before he went missing but completely denied having a “blowout argument.” She didn’t go into detail about the discussion. But, at one point, claimed the chat centered around his Vietnamese background. The couple were in North Carolina for a Portwood family event and planned to travel back to Indiana together before Wayt disappeared, leaving Portwood stranded on the East Coast.

Portwood has not spoken publicly since police spotted Wayt and later connected with the Indiana native. It is unclear if Wayt has returned to Indiana or if he and Portwood have reconnected.
