Castleton Square Mall shooter found guilty

INDIANAPOLIS — The Castleton Square Mall shooter was found guilty of his role in the Feb. 17, 2023 shooting.

Curtis Wilson, 19, was convicted on two counts of Criminal Recklessness, a Level 5 Felony.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department crews were called around 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, to 6020 E. 82nd St. on multiple reports of shots fired and a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found security inside providing first aid to an 18-year-old man, Wilson, who had been shot. Wilson was reportedly part of a shootout between two groups.

Officers later learned that it was an isolated incident and dispute between individuals that led to the shooting.

The shooting led to the mall being under lockdown.

Wilson is set to be sentenced on March 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.
