The Colts 2024 Training Camp schedule announcement included a disappointing decision by the team

The Indianapolis Colts announced their 2024 Training Camp schedule in Westfield, Indiana, at Grand Park via their official website.

Training Camp is kicking off July 25th and will end on August 15th following the team's joint practices with the Arizona Cardinals.

This announcement included five training camp practices that the team has labeled as "primetime practices." These practice sessions will not be free like each practice has typically been for the public. Instead, they will cost five dollars per ticket for those 18 and older.

The environment at the Colts training camp practices has been spectacular. Teams who have come to Grand Park to participate in joint practices with the team have given incredible reviews of the crowd in attendance. Those practices, along with three others, sadly now fall in the "primetime practice" category instead of being free like in years past.

The amount per ticket isn't a crazy price by any means, but to me, taking away the free aspect of this attraction is going to impede some people out there from attending. And this is scheduled at a time when multiple families can all come together as the summer for children is coming to an end.

On a positive note, these priced tickets are set to go towards local charities. So, while I continue to respect the team's efforts to make a difference in the community. I wish they would have not included the team's joint practices with the Cardinals.

I also think they could have raised just as much, if not more, by having a donation table for charity at the entrance of Training Camp. They also could have donated a portion of the profits gained by selling apparel and concessions. They could have done this at every practice even and not had to create a "primetime practice" label. The team is doing this for the right reasons, which matters. I just hope it doesn't lead to the environment at joint practices taking a step back.
