INDIANAPOLIS — The Pacers are shoring up their frontcourt depth in the form of a former high lottery pick.

According to multiple reports including ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Indiana has agreed to a two-year contract with former Warriors and Pistons center James Wiseman.

Wiseman, who is still only 23 years old, was the #2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He was traded two years later from the Warriors to the Pistons, where he was given a bigger role.

Last season Wiseman played a career-high 63 games for the Pistons while averaging 7 points and 5.3 rebounds in 17 minutes per game.

Wiseman will look into moving into the Pacers’ frontcourt rotation after Indiana lost back up center Jalen Smith in free agency to the Bulls.

He likely will not be in the team’s starting lineup after the duo of Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner took the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals last season.
