Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark was named to the WNBA All-Star team on Tuesday, along with her teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell. This was a well-deserved honor for all three players, as not only do they have the individual numbers to be All-Stars, but the play of Clark, Boston, and Mitchell has helped Indiana stay in the playoff hunt.
In a post from the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, star point guard Tyrese Haliburton sent a message to the Fever All-Stars, saying, "Caitlin, Kelsey, Aliyah, congratulations on making the All-Star Game. Three people from the same team is crazy, and just shows what a bright future you guys all have. Go Fever."
Indiana fell to the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday night, but Clark played well again, finishing with 13 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. Continuing to flirt with triple-doubles, it seems Clark will certainly become the first rookie in league history to record one.
As previously mentioned, Clark is one of three Fever players heading to the All-Star game, as both Boston and Mitchell have put together impressive seasons. Finishing first and second in fan voting, Clark and Boston overtook Aces star A'ja Wilson before voting closed.
Indiana will be well represented at the All-Star game, but more importantly will look to continue making a push for a postseason spot. Tuesday's loss dropped the Fever to 8-13 on the season, but they are still just half-game back of the Chicago Sky for the 8th seed in the WNBA standings.
