BMV set to close Indianapolis Madison Ave. branch

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced on Wednesday that the Indianapolis Madison Ave. branch will close on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024.

“The decision to close Madison Ave. came after a thorough review of feedback received from area residents, as well as an assessment of branch activity over the past several years,” said BMV Commissioner Joe B. Hoage.

Hoosiers’ closest options will be the Indy South branch, the Beech Grove branch, the Midtown branch, and the Indy West branch, all located within a nine-mile radius of the Madison Avenue branch.

“With the Indy South branch just three miles away, residents have the option to conduct business at a location offering more customer service stations, testing stations, and BMV Connect kiosks,” said Hoage.

According to BMV officials, the branch staff will be reassigned to nearby locations.
