Indiana man’s flying saucer source of ‘out of this world’ traffic stop

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An out-of-this-world moment happened recently in Missouri, thanks to an Indiana man and his street-legal flying saucer.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri posted about the moment on Facebook on Friday, June 28.

    The post said:

“Well, you never know what will be traveling through Crawford County but this one was a little out of this world. These friendly humanoids, who have come in peace, are heading west to Roswell, NM for a festival. There was a brief conversation about his out of space, correction, out of state registration, but he assured us that he would take care of that issue when he returned to Krypton. He was also warned about our strict enforcement of warp speed on the interstate and to keep his phasers on stun only while traveling.”

The driver and owner of the UFO is Steve Anderson from A OK Car Care in Indianapolis. In 2017, Dick Wolfsie and WISH-TV interviewed Anderson about the 1991 Geo Metro that he stripped down and transformed into a spaceship – of sorts. He calls it his “flying saucer” and it’s fully functional on the road.

The ship was spotted on I-465 on April 8 by INDOT, just after the total solar eclipse. A post from INDOT East included a photo of Anderson’s UFO and simply said, “No this isn’t Photoshopped… This is I-465.”

People are now reporting sightings of the UFO’s journey on the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook post, which has been shared more than 7,000 times.

William Mark commented with a picture and said, “I just saw them in Springfield!”

Amanda Mendez wrote, “They’re from Indiana. I’ve had the pleasure of passing them on the road in the past while traveling back up from Kentucky. Definitely an awesome sight to see lol.”

Need more UFOs? The 2024 UFO Festival in Roswell, New Mexico starts on Friday.

World UFO Day was on Tuesday. According to the Associated Press, World UFO Day has its roots in the so-called “Roswell Incident” on July 2, 1947.

In this case, the flying saucer has intrigue but less mystery in its out-of-this-world Hoosier home.
