Tamika Catchings' One-Word Reaction to Caitlin Clark's Triple-Double Says it All

On Saturday afternoon, Caitlin Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double — notching 19 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds in a stunning upset victory over the New York Liberty.

This historic achievement drew the attention of prominent figures around the basketball world — including WNBA legend Tamika Catchings.

Catchings took to Instagram with a simple message for Clark after her triple-double.

"Yeeeaaaaaaa @caitlinclark22," the former WNBA MVP wrote.

This support no doubt means a lot for Clark — especially coming from one of the greatest women's basketball players of all time. Catchings spent 15 seasons in the WNBA, all with the Indiana Fever. The superstar forward finished her career with 10 All-Star selections, one league MVP (2011) and one WNBA title (2012).

“Obviously Caitlin is a tremendous player, she comes in with a lot of success in the college game, I love her personality, love who she is and definitely happy to have her here in Indianapolis and I think she’ll have a great career here and in the WNBA,” Catchings said of Clark earlier this year. “There is a lot of weight on her shoulders and she’s handling it very well.”

Clark and the Fever will face off against the Washington Mystics in their next matchup on Wednesday.
