John Stamos took to social media to share a clip of his 6-year-old son Billy joining him on stage at a Beach Boys concert. Stamos has been performing on and off with the group since 1984, and at a show in Indianapolis on July 5, his son took a drum solo during the song “Good Vibrations.”
“Had a little help from my son BILLY on good vibrations last night – Wasn’t it nice!” Stamos wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. In the video, Billy is shown wearing noise-dampening headgear to protect his hearing, but that didn’t stop him from keeping up with his father on the drums. The kid keeps the rhythm his dad sets, staying in pace pretty well for a 6-year-old.
Fans were excited that John Stamos’ son seems to be taking after his musical father. “Great job Billy…another drummer enters the family,” one person wrote in the comments. Another person commented, “How cute!! He rocks like you,” while yet another fan wrote, “Was a great concert! So awesome that you were able to have that moment with your son.”

Fans Love John Stamos’ Son Taking After His Father, While Stamos Recently Paid Tribute to His Own Dad
At another Beach Boys concert on Sunday, July 7, John Stamos dedicated a song to his late father on the 23rd anniversary of his death. Stamos posted a clip of himself on guitar introducing and performing the song “Forever.”
“I lost my dad 23 years ago today,” he captioned the Instagram post. “This song is called Forever, – and that’s how long love should last.” Fans showed their support in the comments as well. “You have the sweetest heart and so much talent. God bless and keep safe both your parents till you meet again,” one fan wrote. Many others shared their memories of the song from Stamos’ show Full House.
In 2021, Stamos spoke with ET about bringing his son up around music. At the time, he shared a moment he had with the then 3-year-old Billy during a Beach Boys show. “I had this beautiful moment last week at Petco’s stadium, where [Billy] sat on my lap during ‘God Only Knows’ and it was like a moment that I never thought I would ever have, you know?” he revealed.
“Sometimes, I hit myself in the head with a drumstick,” he added. “I’m like, ‘I’m playing with the Beach Boys. I can’t even tell you how much it means to me. I mean, next to my family, it’s the greatest thrill of my life.”
