STATEWIDE –Severe weather is possible across Indiana on Monday.

“We’re mainly concerned with later in the day on Monday. There could be two rounds with one moving in later in the day on Monday and then another late in the evening,” said Greg Melo with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

He says places north of I-70 might see the worst weather.

“The main threat in those places would be damaging wind gusts, but there could potentially be a few spinup tornadoes, but we’re really concerned with the damaging wind threat. But we don’t think there will be any large hail with that,” said Melo.

Melo thinks the worst of it might be during the 6-8 pm timeframe on Monday. As the week goes on, though, he believes the potential for severe weather subsides.

“The front should settle south of our area by Wednesday. We’ll keep an eye on that. It will depend on how quickly that cold front moves through. We should start to dry out later in the week,” said Melo.
