$8 happy hour: P.F. Chang's celebrates birthday with prizes and special menu launch

P.F. Chang’s is launching a happy hour menu with $8 cocktails and appetizers.

The new Lucky 8 Happy Hour that takes effect July 19 will celebrate the Asian culinary chain’s 30th birthday and includes new cocktails and smaller sizes of favorite apps.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based chain will also give away $30,000 in prizes at restaurants July 20-21. Each dine-in customer will get a scratch-off card for a chance to win a $30 gift card.

P.F. Chang’s was founded on July 20, 1993 with wok cooking as a focus.

The chain's gold and platinum rewards members will get double points on in-store purchases through July 23 and there will be weekly social media giveaways July 26-Aug. 17 to celebrate its anniversary.

The happy hour menu will be available 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

P.F. Chang's Lucky 8 Happy Hour menu features:

• Four new hand-crafted cocktails: Lychee Cosmo, Jade Mojito, Tropical Tiki and Sparkling Paloma.
• Crispy green beans
• Tempura calamari
• Hand-folded crab wontons
• Handmade dumplings
