INDIANAPOLIS, IN ( CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE ) — The third major on NASCAR’s schedule is right around the corner.

After a three-year run on Indy’s road course, NASCAR returns to its natural habitat on the oval. The Brickyard 400 is considered one of the sport’s crown jewel races, and one every driver wants on their resume.

Drivers will race 160 laps around the 2.5-mile track to total more than 400 miles. Four drivers have won all four of NASCAR’s crown jewel races, but Denny Hamlin is the only driver in the field who can join them with a win.

Only Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano and the Hall of Famer Jimmie Johnson are among those in the starting lineup with a win in Indy.

Qualifying isn’t everything, as only five drivers who’ve started P1 have gone on to kiss the bricks.

Sunday’s race, the last before the Olympic break, starts at 2:30 p.m.
