    IMPD: 4 arrested after series of robberies at Dollar Tree, Dairy Queen, gas stations

    INDIANAPOLIS — Officers arrested four individuals on Thursday for their suspected role in a series of armed robberies.

    The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested the following males:

    • Emmanuel Collins, 25
    • Jajuan Beecher, 23
    • Tayveon Majors, 21
    • and an unidentified 15-year-old boy.

    According to IMPD, officers responded to a Dollar Tree at 3502 E Washington St on a report of an armed robbery. Officials learned that two males entered the business, pointed a firearm at the employees, and demanded the money in the cash register. The employees complied and handed over the cash drawer.

    The suspects left the scene in a small silver sedan waiting outside. Officers quickly identified the vehicle as the same one used in a July 13 robbery of a Food Corner Pantry at 3139 Kentucky Avenue. Detectives located the car a short distance from where the alleged theft occurred.

    IMPD and SWAT conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Reportedly, the juvenile attempted to flee but was immediately captured. Collins, Beecher, and Majors were all taken into custody.

    Officials were granted a search warrant for the vehicle and subsequently found three firearms, clothing, and money stolen from the Dollar Tree. The items in the car were linked to five other robberies.

    According to court documents, the additional five robberies include:

    June 4, Armed Robbery of the GoLo gas station at 2040 E Washington St.:

    • Officers were dispatched on June 4 at approximately 5:17 a.m. to 2040 E. Washington St. to the GoLo gas station on a report of a robbery. With handguns, two males demanded cash. Approximately $350 worth of cash was emptied from the register. They also reportedly stole a box of lottery tickets. The suspects escaped through an alley. Around 11:30 a.m. multiple individuals attempted to redeem the stolen lottery tickets. An individual was detained but he provided no new information.

    June 27, Armed robbery of Speedway gas station at 8202 Allisonville Rd.:

    • Officers were dispatched at 11:54 p.m. to Speedway gas station at 8202 Allisonville Rd. on a report of a robbery on June 27. According to court documents, a male ran into Speedway gas station along with a gun and an accomplice and stole 72 cartons of cigarettes valued at $580. No cash or property was taken.

    July 8, 2024: Armed robbery of the Dairy Queen located at 3906 E 10th St.:

    • Officers were dispatched on July 8, to investigate a robbery at a Dairy Queen on 3906 E 10 St. Upon arrival, officers spoke with employees who said that they pointed guns and demanded money. The suspects stole $970 from Dairy Queen.

    July 9, Armed robbery of the Shell gas station located at 3801 E New York St. :

    • On July 9. officers were dispatched at 3 a.m. to Shell Gas at 3801 E New York St. on a report of a robbery. The four males pointed a gun at the clerk and reportedly took approximately $1,000 in cash, 1000 lottery tickets, and cigarettes.

    July 13, 2024: Armed robbery of the Food Corner Pantry located at 3139 Kentucky Ave. :

    • On July 13, officers were dispatched to 3139 Kentucky Avenue on a report of an armed robbery of Food Corner Pantry. The suspects allegedly stole around $2,134.75 in cash. Witnesses at the scene were able to describe the vehicle, which was critical information in identifying the suspects at the Dollar Tree.

    Detectives interviewed the four suspects and they admitted to playing various roles in the string of robberies. In many of the robberies, witnesses also reported that the suspects often had on no mask while robbing the businesses.
