Katelyn Larson always knows how to have a good time. The wife of 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson has developed her own celebration after her husband wins a race, often seen shotgunning beers in Victory Lane - or even at the ceremony honoring Kyle's championship. https://twitter.com/NASCARonNBC/status/1202758274061393920?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1202758274061393920%7Ctwgr%5E60f3826bddfdc4b0415dc99cd23c57d01b5328a0%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2019%2F12%2F07%2Fkyle-larsons-wife-shotguns-busch-heavy-tallboy-at-nascar-awards%2F It's hard to top shotgunning a beer at the Cup Series championship ceremony honoring your husband, but getting to throw one back on the finish line of the most historic track in racing might come pretty close. NASCAR was at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend, returning to the 2.5 mile oval for the first time since 2020 after running on the road course at Indy the past three years. And Kyle Larson managed to score his first win at the Brickyard 400 - although it wasn't without controversy. During a restart with two to go, Larson lined up third, behind leader Brad Keselowski and with Ryan Blaney on the outside of the front row. But as they were coming to the green flag, Keselowski ran out of fuel and ducked to pit road, allowing Larson to move up to the front row (much to the annoyance of Blaney). There were many who thought that Larson jumped the restart, because he was supposed to wait on Blaney before taking off since he was technically the third place car coming to the green flag. But regardless, Larson managed to take the lead from Blaney and was in first place when another caution flag flew, setting up an overtime restart. Larson managed to hold on to the lead and take the win, scoring yet another crown jewel event to add to his already impressive resume. And he also gave Katelyn Larson the opportunity to shotgun a beer on the frontstretch of one of the most iconic tracks in all of motorsports. Along with taking part in the winner's tradition of kissing the yard of bricks that makes up the start/finish line at Indy, Katelyn also took the opportunity while she was on the bricks to show off her signature celebration. https://twitter.com/NASCAR/status/1815407726320927214 Maybe this should be added to the winner's tradition at Indy. https://twitter.com/nascarcasm/status/1815398778410578258
