Colts QB Anthony Richardson Earns Massive 2024 Prediction

With the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts selected Florida quarterback, Anthony Richardson. An athletic marvel, he was accomplishing things at the NFL Combine we have never seen from a quarterback.

Considered a raw prospect entering the draft, Anthony Richardson ended up earning the Colts’ starting quarterback job in the offseason. Unfortunately, injuries derailed us from seeing his full potential.

He started in four games, three of which he had to leave early because of injury. He was inactive in Week 3 because he was hurt, but in Week 5, he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury against the Tennessee Titans .

The Colts have to find a way to keep Anthony Richardson healthy once he gets out of the pocket. Whether it is sliding or getting out of bounds, he needs to find ways to protect himself so he is not absorbing unnecessary hits.

If he can do that, the Florida product can reach incredible heights. In his four games last season, he showcased his incredible dual-threat ability.

He threw for 577 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, adding 136 rushing yards and four more scores. Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report believes we will see a lot more of that in 2024.

Sobleski recently published a piece sharing some major predictions for the upcoming season. One of the boldest was that Sobleski believes Anthony Richardson will win the MVP award.

“As long as the sophomore signal-caller learns how to protect himself, he can shine. The Colts have an underrated surrounding cast, with wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs and Mitchell, massive tight ends, running back Jonathan Taylor and one of the game’s best offensive lines. Also, head coach Shane Steichen happens to be one of the league’s best offensive play-callers.

The sky is the limit for a healthy Richardson, which means a breakout season should catapult him into MVP status,” Sobleski wrote.

The pieces are in place for the Colts to have one of the best offenses in the NFL. If they can remain in the playoff race, potentially snagging the AFC South crown, Anthony Richardson will be a big reason why.

At the end of the season, the MVP voting could reflect that. A productive quarterback on a winning team is a recipe for success when it comes to season accolades.
