The Indiana Pacers and guard Andrew Nembhard agreed to a three-year, $59 million contract extension that will take him through the 2027-28 season, Todd Ramasar and Jaafar Choufani of Life Sports Agency informed ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday morning.

Andrew Nembhard agreed to the maximum allowable money the Indiana Pacers could offer him on a three-year deal

Nembhard, 24, agreed on the maximum allowable money available to him on a three-year deal. The Pacers will decline his $2.2 team option in 2025-26, allowing for the new deal to begin for him next year, per Wojnarowski. The 6-foot-5 guard became eligible to sign the deal Monday.

Since Myles Turner and T.J. McConnell remain unsigned, the new contract currently makes Nembhard the third highest-paid player on the roster behind only Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam for 2025-26.

The Pacers selected Nembhard 31st overall in the 2022 NBA draft out of Gonzaga. Through 143 career games (110 starts), he has averaged 9.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 26.4 minutes per game while shooting 46.7% from the floor, 35.3% from 3-point range, and 79.7% at the free throw line.

In 68 games (47 starts) of the 2023-24 season, he averaged 9.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 25 minutes per game. Additionally, he shot career bests of 49.8% from the field, 35.7% from deep, and 80.4% at the foul line.

Nembhard scored a career-high 32 points in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics

During Indiana’s run to the Eastern Conference finals, Nembhard averaged 14.9 points and 5.5 assists on 56% shooting. The Pacers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks on the way to their conference matchup with the Boston Celtics.

Nembhard averaged 28 points and 9.5 assists against the Celtics, with Haliburton out of the lineup in Games 3 and 4. In Indiana’s 114-111 Game 3 loss to Boston, he recorded a career-high 32 points on 12-of-21 (57.1%) shooting from the floor and four 3-pointers.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, he became the fourth NBA player to shoot 55% from the field and 45% on 3-pointers in a single postseason. His 48% shooting on 3-pointers in the 2024 playoffs was the best among players with at least 25 attempts.

Furthermore, Nembhard is now playing for the Canadian national team at the Paris Olympics. The Paris 2024 Olympics will begin on Saturday, July 27 and conclude on Sunday, Aug. 11.
