Christie Sides and the Indiana Fever started their 2024 WNBA campaign with a dreadful 1-8 start — in large part due to the fact that they faced the most difficult opening schedule of any team in the league.

Since that start though, the Fever have bounced back with some far more impressive play.

Led by No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark, Indiana is now 11-15 at the midway point of the 2024 season — giving them the No. 7 overall seed in the WNBA.

Sides used one word to describe her team's identity through the first half of this year's campaign: "Resiliency."

“Resiliency is the word," Sides said in a recent interview with The Spokesman-Review . "What these guys have endured from 1-8, that start, [facing] the best teams in the league, early back-to-backs, it was just tough."

“It was tough on them and tough on all of us with the expectations, that was even another game changer," she continued. "Just that they kept showing up. They kept showing up, trying to get better even when we couldn’t practice, it was in video. Just the resiliency that they’ve shown, I’m just so proud of them for that."

Sides, Clark and the Fever will resume their 2024 WNBA season with a matchup against the Phoenix Mercury on August 16.
