Police Cruiser Damaged In Wreck Involving a Stolen Car

The crash happened around 3 a.m. at 62nd Street and Binford Boulevard. Officers say the cop car was involved in a crash as police were going after a car that had been reported stolen and sped away after officers tried to pull it over.

When the stolen car collided with the police cruiser it flipped at the intersection. A thrid car was also damaged in the incident.

Two people who were inside the stolen car ran off and are still on the lamb.

Police say the officer involved sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the third vehicle was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Traffic is still moving on Binford Boulevard, however, drivers can’t turn onto 62nd Street from Binford due to this investigation. Officials say the intersection should be cleared soon.
