USA TODAY named its Bars of the Year. This Indy favorite made the list

Sam's Silver Circle in Fountain Square made USA TODAY’s list of best bars in the country.

The USA TODAY Bars of the Year 2024 list , released today, features 27 bars from dives to high-end cocktail joints.

"I'm honored and proud of the bar and everyone who works here," manager Raeann Eakle said. "We're not always perfect, but everybody that comes in here, we want them to have a good time. That's what we strive for."

USA TODAY Network food journalists live and work in states across the country. They know their communities, and they pooled their expertise to select the list, which includes the places they spend their time and recommend to readers and friends.

Sam's was chosen for its distinctly inviting atmosphere, where cold beer and hot pizza crowd tabletops and excited chatter fills the bars' walls, which are colorfully adorned with 86 years of history.
