Indianapolis Colts defensive end Samson Ebukam was carted off the practice field Sunday during training camp at the Grand Park Sports Complex in Westfield.

After practice, head coach Shane Steichen confirmed the injury and said Ebukam was dealing with a calf injury.

The injury occurred during team drills when Ebukam went down with his injury. According to Kevin Bowen of 1075 The Fan , the team had to move the drill further down the field so Ebukam could be attended to by the training staff.

It isn't clear how serious the injury is, but it was serious enough that Ebukam apparently couldn't get off the field on his own so the team could resume practice.

Steichen also confirmed that fellow edge rusher Dayo Odeyingbo, who suffered an injury during the second practice and missed Sunday, is also dealing with a calf injury.

Ebukam had a career year in his first season with the Colts, leading the pass rush with 9.5 sacks.

Taking their place on the defensive line will be Tyquan Lewis in the meantime. The Colts also could give first-round pick Laiatu Latu run with the first-team defense
