A trial date was set in the case of a Cathedral City man suspected in the fentanyl poisoning death of a then-22-year-old man on New Year’s Day two years ago. A murder trial for Riley Jacob Hagar, 27, will get underway at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Sept. 6, according to the case report.

The semi and the driver were transported to the Indio Border Patrol Station. The liquid in the fuel tanks tested positive or methamphetamine. The total weight of the meth came in at 450 poundds, with a street value of $540,000. The driver of the rig, a 31 year old Mexican citizen was arrested and the vehicle was seized, along with the methamphetamine.
