The Lucas Oil Stadium roof will be closed and the window will be open Saturday night when the Colts host the Arizona Cardinals in their second preseason game, according to team owner Jim Irsay. This is not believed to be related to the mechanical issues that required the roof to be closed for the game against Denver on Sunday.

Irsay initially announced the roof would be open for Sunday's preseason game against the Broncos but one of the operating system's input/output components was faulty, according to Monica Whitfield Brase, public information and marketing manager for the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, and the roof couldn't be opened. That malfunction caused the system to relay incorrect information about an issue with the roof, she said.

"The component has now been replaced and we were able to open the roof early this afternoon," Brase told IndyStar in an email Monday. "We expect the option to open the roof will be available as normal on Saturday."

However, there is a chance of rain Saturday night, meaning the roof is closed.

The Colts have had the roof open 38 times in the 130 regular season games at Lucas Oil Stadium.
