Indiana high school volleyball preview: Everything you need to know for 2024 season
Brooklyn Bilyeu, Rensselaer Central
The senior setter racked up 41 assists with only one error on 204 ball-handling attempts over nine sets at the Peru Invitational. Bilyeu also logged 13 digs, two blocks, 10 aces and 12 kills.
Jaycee Jones, Mt. Vernon
Jones picked up 10 kills and hit .643 to help the Marauders to a three-set sweep of Greenwood. She also collected three digs.
Maya Joska, Castle
The 6-0 setter totaled 68 assists and 29 kills (.349 hit%) over 13 sets Saturday. Joska, who also picked up three aces, nine blocks and 36 digs, tallied triple-doubles (kills, digs, assists) in five-set wins over Tri-West and Trinity Lutheran.
Keira Lucas, Northview
The six-rotation senior has the Knights off to a 3-0 start with wins over Brebeuf Jesuit, Danville and Evansville Memorial. She tallied 54 kills across nine sets, including 20 in the opener vs. Brebeuf. Lucas also logged a couple assists, nine blocks (two solo) and 57 digs (three double-doubles).
Madison Miles, Hamilton Southeastern
The junior Illinois commit helped the Royals secure sweeps of McCutcheon and Warsaw, totaling 29 kills across the two matches.
Hayden Ramsey, New Palestine
Ramsey led the Dragons to a four-set win over Scecina, putting down 18 kills. The junior registered 185 kills as a sophomore.
Shannon Rudge, Penn
Rudge started her senior season with a couple strong performances, totaling 20 kills (.271 hit%), 11 digs, two assists and an ace in wins over FW Bishop Dwenger and La Porte. Rudge had 12 kills and 31 receptions with only on error vs. the Slicers.
Kendyl Strack, Westfield
The sophomore picked up eight aces, nine digs and four assists in a three-set sweep of Lawrence North.
Molly Welborn, Scecina Memorial
The senior scored her 1,000th career kill in a four-set loss to 4A’s New Palestine. Welborn cleared the milestone in a marathon first set (Scecina won, 30-28).
Ellen Zapp, Center Grove
The senior Oakland commit registered 12 kills on a .440 hit% in a 3-0 sweep of Barr-Reeve. Zapp also picked up an ace, two blocks and seven digs.
