    Goals, saves and PKs: Vote for IHSAA girls soccer players of the week (Aug. 17)

    IndyStar will be recognizing the top girls soccer players in Indiana with our players of the week poll.

    Here were the top performers from Saturday.

    Indiana high school soccer preview: Everything you need to know for 2024 season

    Lydia Burckle, Pendleton Heights

    Burckle played club for two seasons, then planned to join the Arabians for her junior year, but tore her ACL during a preseason scrimmage. She finally made her high school debut Saturday — and scored a hat trick in a 5-1 win at Yorktown.

    Kaydence Fleck, Noblesville

    The senior picked up a goal and an assist as the top-ranked Millers registered a statement win over No. 7 Cathedral, 4-0. Fleck had six goals and three assists over 20 games last season.

    Madison Fleury, Whiteland

    The Warriors opened the season with an 8-0 rout of Triton Central and three of those goals came from their junior captain. Fleury scored a career-high seven goals last season and now has 16 for her career.

    Lydia Goodsell, Glenn

    The sophomore reset her career-high for goals in a season with her first career hat trick in Saturday’s opener vs. New Prairie. Goodsell had two goals and five assists last fall.

    Kate Malin, Westfield

    The senior scored twice over a 14-minute stretch to lift the Rocks to a 2-1 victory over defending Class 2A state champion Guerin Catholic. Malin scored 12 goals last season and has 25 for her career.

    Elise May, Fishers

    Back with the Tigers following a season playing for an academy team, May marked her return by scoring twice in a 4-0 win over McCutcheon. The junior scored 11 goals as a freshman (2022-23).

    Sydney May, Hamilton Southeastern

    May scored twice in the second half of her varsity debut, lifting the No. 2 Royals to a 3-1 win over No. 3 Carmel. Sydney’s older sister, Sloane May, registered two assists.

    Maria Mayer, East Central

    Mayer scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Center Grove. The junior has nine goals (six last season) and five assists for her career.

    Kendy Montes, Southport

    The junior midfielder accounted for both goals in the Cardinals’ 2-1 win over Ben Davis. They were the first two goals of Montes’ varsity career per MaxPreps, with the assists going to Nasiyah Coleman and Mya Davis-Muff.

    Rhyley Rogers, Franklin Central

    The freshman scored two goals and added a couple assists to set the Flashes on course for a 9-0 victory over Richmond. Teammate Adalynn Dingledy had three assists.
