Overnight car break-ins at downtown hotel leave guests on edge
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police are investigating a string of car break-ins at a downtown Louisville hotel. It happened early Sunday morning at the shared garage between the Fairfield Inn and Springhill Suites in downtown Louisville. LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said the original report of the break-ins came from the security guard at 4 a.m., but LMPD needed a victim present to take a report. Police returned to the scene around 6 a.m. to take reports.

Popular Owensboro Halloween Store Ready to Wreak ‘Havoc’ in New Location
In June, BOGO Fireworks, for the first time in its history here in Owensboro, was in a brick and mortar location. Prior to 2024, Joni Autry operated her successful fireworks business under a tent located in a variety of places on the south end of Frederica Street. For years, that tent was situated in the side parking lot of Office Depot behind Panera Bread Company. It later moved behind Towne Square Mall. Even later, Joni set up shop in front of Towne Square Mall. But, this year, she managed to move BOGO inside the former Stay Fit location at J.R. Miller Boulevard. Now, she's doing the same thing with her popular Halloween business- Halloween Havoc.

PADUCAH — As football season begins for many local schools, Paducah Tilghman and McCracken County High School fans celebrated their first game with a tailgate party. Paducah Middle Schooler Henry Hancock joined in on the celebration. He said one of his favorite parts of the party was the inflatable Boot Camp brought in by the National Guard.
Breathitt Co. business destroyed in fire
JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - A business in Breathitt County was destroyed after an early Saturday morning fire. Officials with the Jackson Fire Department said the fire happened at a building on Lower Main St. in Jackson. Crews blocked off the road for several hours as they put out the flames.
