Jane Eastman is a treasure hunter who occupies her free time “Wading rivers for treasure in the South of England.” She chronicles her adventures on TikTok and Instagram . Hailing from Whitchurch, Hampshire, Jane is a jewelry maker and silversmith in real life. Unlike many treasure hunters , Jane doesn’t arm herself with a metal detector or other typical “tools of the trade.” She carries only an old wash bowl, a long-handled grabber, and waders. She wades through shallow, clear streams in southern England, where she found the interesting antique sword.

There are more than 5,000 comments under the post. One commenter identified the sword as a “Pattern 1796 English cavalry sword.” The man, AutomaticallyCards , identifies himself as a person with ADHD and curiosity. Throughout the thread, he defends his findings. Unlike many social media encounters, the thread has 63 interactions, and they are all pleasant!

Jane has promised to post additional information about the sword once she has cleaned it and determined any identifying marks. If you are interested in this antique sword or the other relics she has discovered, follow her social media channels. Two pieces of an old jar, found three years apart, are a perfect match . The gold watch she wears is a previous river find that was underwater for about 100 years. It still works!
