WVU women's soccer to host youth soccer camp in July
In just over a week, the WVU women's soccer team will take a trip south on I-79 to host a girls' youth soccer camp. Athletes from the program will be on-site at Shawnee Sports Complex in Dunbar, W.Va on July 8th from 10 am - 1 pm to provide instruction. The camp will be free to attend, with those looking to participate able to sign up at this link. The camp is only available to elementary school and middle school aged participants.

Top youth soccer tournament begins regional play at Shawnee Sports Complex
DUNBAR, W.Va — One of the top youth soccer tournaments is bringing its young talent to Dunbar’s Shawnee Sports Complex. The US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships began play Thursday featuring group winners from 15 different states. The tournament will last through next Wednesday and will be split up between Shawnee Sports Complex in Dunbar and Barboursville Soccer Complex.
Charleston Dirty Birds win final game of the series against Lexington
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Dirty Birds defeated the Lexington Legends 4-3 in the series finale. Charleston improves to 11-1 against the Legends this season. Kevin Smith earned his first win of the season after giving up two earned runs in his six innings pitched. He allowed six hits and one walk while striking out 11. The three relief pitchers were lights out and did not allow a hit, run, or walk. The pitching staff combined to strike out 16 Legends hitters.
