    Citrus woman arrested after 72-year-old roommate found dead inside tarp: sheriff

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman was arrested for murder after her 72-year-old roommate was found dead wrapped in a tarp in Citrus County on Saturday.

    According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office , deputies were called to 6033 East Rector Street for reports of a dead body being found.

    When deputies entered the residence, they found 72-year-old Andrea Kathleen Day wrapped up in a tarp. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The woman’s roommate, Tracey Lee Stanley, 61, of Inverness, was arrested for second-degree murder, the sheriff’s office said. She was booked into the Citrus County Detention Facility, where she is being held without bond.

    “My sincerest condolences go out to the family of Andrea Day as they begin the long process of healing,” Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast said in a statement. “This was a senseless act of violence. Thank you to our deputies and detectives, who worked swiftly and diligently to take this suspect into custody.”

    No other details were made available. The investigation is ongoing.
