Despite being in the WNBA and already off to a blistering start to her career and rookie season, Caitlin Clark is still collecting awards from her reign of dominance in college with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Clark’s collegiate awards and trophy list could go on for miles and miles when it is looked back upon, and today sees another impressive award added to that list.

Caitlin Clark has been named the Big Ten Athlete of the Year.

The decision is nearly impossible to argue. Clark had a four-year run at Iowa that hasn’t ever been seen before in women’s college basketball and this past season was the best of the bunch.

During the 2023-24 season, Caitlin Clark averaged a career-high 31.6 points per game. She added in 8.9 assists and 7.4 rebounds per game to go with it. She did all of this while shooting 45.5% from the field and 37.8% from three-point range. She finished her career with 17 triple-doubles.

Even more impressive than those numbers was Clark’s ability to take Iowa to back-to-back Final Fours in the NCAA Tournament. This culminated with her being a two-time AP Player of the Year, three-time Unanimous All-American, a four-time First-team All-Big Ten selection, a three-time Big Ten Player of the Year, and the NCAA Division 1 all-time scoring leader.

With her number already retired and on the court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, this award is another in the already very full cap of Caitlin Clark.
