Tickets are available online and range from $16 to $30.

    Johnson County Fair

The Johnson County Fair returns on Saturday, July 20, and runs through Thursday, July 25. The free annual event celebrates children, livestock, agriculture, and odd contests.

Swine shows and the Bill Riley Iowa State Fair Talent Search will be held throughout the week. A fireworks show is scheduled for 9 p.m. Sunday, July 21.

    FilmScene Summer Rooftop Series

FilmScene hosts the Summer Rooftop Series, where beloved cult classic movies are rescreened under Iowa City's bright lights. This week's screening is "The Taking of Pelham 123," a crime thriller about the hijacking of a New York City subway train. The criminal threatens to kill one hostage per minute unless their demands are met. The screening will be held at 8:35 p.m. on the rooftop of FilmScene's Pedmall location. Tickets are available for purchase online.
