Iowa's Caitlin Clark Replacement Drops Truth Bomb On Comparisons To Fever Star

Caitlin Clark is starring in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever currently, but in the college ranks, her former Iowa Hawkeyes squad is looking for ways to replace her.

Enter Lucy Olsen, who transferred to Iowa from Villanova after three seasons with the Wildcats in an effort to help the team replace Clark.

Everybody, Olsen included, knows that she was brought in to offset the loss of Clark. Despite that, Olsen recently insisted that she doesn't want to be compared to Clark, simply because of how difficult it will be to replicate her incredible output with the Hawkeyes.

While Clark was far and away the best player in women's college basketball last season, Olsen was no slouch. She put up some big numbers in her third and final campaign with the Wildcats last year (23.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.8 APG, 43.8 FG%).

Now, she's going to have to attempt to produce at a similar level for Iowa. And while she knows the comparisons to Clark are already flying around, Olsen just wants to go out and play at the highest level she possibly can.

And yet, while she may not like the comparisons, Olsen's ability to fill Clark's shoes could determine just how successful (or unsuccessful) Iowa's 2024-25 campaign ends up being.
