It’s been 17 years since a team won back-to-back NCAA men’s basketball championships.
But the UConn Huskies seem poised to end that drought.
The 68 teams in the 2024 NCAA Tournament have been revealed and fans around the world will fill out their brackets and choose who will follow the Huskies as the national champions.
UConn is the betting favorite to cut down the nets again, and the Huskies will begin their journey as the No. 1 seed in the East with two matchups in Brooklyn before the regional in Boston.
While playing a bus ride away from Storrs, Conn., seems a like a gift for the Huskies, it’s worth noting that the last six champions have failed to make it out of the fist weekend.
The other No. 1 seeds are Houston, Purdue and North Carolina, with UConn serving as the overall top seed in the bracket.
Purdue is hoping it can follow the path of Virginia, the only other team to lose to a No. 16 seed, and win the national title following an infamous defeat.
The Boilermakers fell to Fairleigh Dickinson last year, but are hoping reigning Naismith College Player of the Year Zach Edey can help end a string of early exits.
Houston earned its second straight No. 1 seed, and the Cougars hope this year’s tournament brings them more luck than last year’s edition after being bounced by Miami in the Sweet 16.
North Carolina missed out on March Madness last year but reached the national championship game two years ago as a No. 8 seed.

The tournament kicks off March 19 with the two First Four games in Dayton, followed by two more the next night.
The Round of 64 happens from March 21-22, with the second round occurring from March 23-24.

The East regional is in Boston, the South regional will happen in Dallas, the Midwest regional games take place in Detroit and Las Vegas will host the West regional teams.
Those games will take place from March 28-31.
The Final Four will be held April 6 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., the home of the Arizona Cardinals, and the national title game happens April 8.
On that night, a new champion will be crowned.
UConn hopes to win its sixth ring and join the short list of repeat champions.
Here’s your chance to fill out your bracket and predict it all.
Let the Madness begin.
