TJ Miller, recognized for his role as Weasel in the first two Deadpool films , ignited fan unrest when an old interview segment resurfaced , unveiling that he had declared his intentions not to return for a third film.

On the Adam Corolla Show podcast back in 2022, Miller disclosed his feelings about Ryan Reynolds and why he chose not to re-engage with the franchise.

He remarked, "I would not have done Deadpool 3 if they came to me and were like, 'We want you to do Deadpool 3, and we're going to pay you twice as much.'"

Continuing, he expressed, "I think he should make a Deadpool 3 and continue to make movies. I just think he doesn't like me, and I thought it was weird how he expressed that. I'm at a place in my life where I don't need to do Deadpool 3."

The revival of this conversation has gained attention alongside the debut of Deadpool and Wolverine on July 26, which saw Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman returning as their iconic characters, with other celebrated actors such as Chris Evans, Emma Corrin, and Matthew McFayden joining the cast. Noticeably absent was Miller's character, Weasel, leading to discontent among some fans upon encountering the clip.

A user under the name @filmitlee responded to the video, suggesting that the omission of Weasel wasn't significantly felt.

A TikTok user expressed their thoughts quite bluntly, saying: "My God, how much of an ego do you have? The fact that they managed to bring this guy, Randall Reeder, to play as Buck from the last two previous Deadpool movies tells me how much of an insignificant you were back then, dude. I find it very fitting that you played a character named Weasel.."

Another irate fan chimed in with: "I don't think once during Deadpool 3 was I ever like 'Where was T. J. Miller'," and another remarked: "Bro definitely would have done Deadpool 3 if they called him."

Some defenders shared their sentiments about Miller's absence in the comments. One supporter voiced: "The thing that sucks is that I've always liked TJ Miller for some reason. His comedic timing was funny to me."

Meanwhile, another person noted: "Ryan pretty much told him he didn't like him to his face."

This response alludes to an awkward encounter Miller described on a podcast, claiming Reynolds acted "horrifically mean to me as if I'm Weasel."

Miller recalled feeling belittled by Reynolds' comment, "He was like, 'You know what's great about you, Weasel? You're not the star, but you do just enough exposition so that it's funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.'".

Additionally, TJ reflected on how his rapport with Reynolds seemed better while filming the first film because at that time "he wasn't a huge, huge movie star."

Miller has several allegations and accusations made against him, of varying levels of severity.
