Jake Paul given 'two-word' warning to avoid Mike Tyson's dirty trick in fight

Jake Paul has been advised to " inform the referee " if Mike Tyson spits out his gumshield during their upcoming boxing match . Tyson, who retired in 2005 with an impressive record of 50-6 and 44 professional knockouts, hasn't had a sanctioned fight in nearly two decades. However, the 58-year-old is set to return to the ring to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul this November.

The pair were originally scheduled to meet on July 20 , but Tyson had to withdraw due to health concerns. Keen to keep his fight date, 27-year-old Paul instead took on bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry, defeating him in the sixth round via TKO and improving his near-perfect record to 10-1.

Since turning professional in 2020, Paul has defeated several former UFC stars in the boxing ring - including Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz. His only loss so far was a split decision against Tommy Fury in February last year.

Despite going into his fight with Tyson on November 15 full of confidence, Kevin McBride - the last man to share the ring with 'Iron' Mike - has warned him to be extremely cautious. Speaking to Instant Casino, McBride said: "Keep your f****** hands up and watch that he doesn't spit out his mouthpiece and if he does, tell the ref," reports the Mirror .

"I'd warn Jake Paul to make sure Mike doesn't spit his mouthpiece out because if he does you never know what's going to happen. You don't know what Mike Tyson is going to do, he's a fearsome man. It takes balls to get in the ring with Tyson even in his fifties, whether you're a YouTuber or a fighter, it takes big balls, Tyson is no joke."

McBride had a face-off with Tyson in June 2005, which led to the former undisputed heavyweight champion retiring on his stool at the end of the sixth round after an 18-minute battle. Tyson used up too much energy trying to get into range with wild hooks in the initial rounds, while McBride - significantly larger and heavier - wore his opponent down through clinch work when he managed to get inside.

Despite early success with a flurry of punches, Tyson showed signs of exhaustion in the fifth round - which ultimately ended with him backed against the ropes as McBride alternated between body and headshots. The two briefly exchanged blows in the centre of the ring as the sixth round began, with McBride once again tying Tyson up to avoid any danger before the referee called for a time-out due to the American locking up his rival's arm.

A head clash soon after resulted in a cut on McBride's eye - which only made the boxer more furious and led to an already frustrated Tyson losing two points for an "intentional headbutt."

McBride landed some hefty hooks on Tyson late in the round, pushing the boxing legend back to the ropes before Tyson hit the deck. He didn't get up from his stool, resulting in McBride being declared the winner by retirement.
