A snippet of their quarrel was swiftly uploaded on social media. The official BBC Sport page posted the video on X, captioning it: "Players at the beach volleyball started arguing so the DJ played Imagine by John Lennon."

In the comments section, fans were left entertained. One individual commented: "Djs rule! " Another added: "John Lennon always saves the day."

A third person humorously wrote: "Brilliant. Hats off to the DJ - pure class."

The iconic tune echoed throughout the Eiffel Tower Stadium as the players swiftly joined in laughter and applause at the music, with the crowd on their feet, singing and clapping along, crafting an unforgettable moment at Paris 2024.

In post-match interviews, Canada's Wilkerson, proudly taking home the silver medal, remarked: "We're competitors, and we're both fighting for the same thing-there's only one gold medal. But right after the game, it's all love and respect. We bring out the best in each other, and I'm honoured to play against this team."

Reflecting on the finals experience, she said, "What a beautiful opportunity we have to play the finals under the Eiffel Tower against the best in the world. Like, that, in of itself, is a win. We were pretty amped up [during the argument in the third set]. Partners are coming in, refs are coming in. So it was a bit of a mess."

She continued, "But after the game, and even right when they came to shake our hands, still on the court, there was an immediate hug and just kind of like, 'Hey, it's all good'."

Brazilian sensation Patricia shared her thoughts: "It was a game thing. Everybody wants to win. But it happens. It's everybody trying to win, but now everything is OK."
