A worried individual took to Reddit to share their concern after suggesting their friend reconsider the names she's chosen for her unborn twins , fearing they might lead to bullying .

The woman was apprehensive about the baby names due to her friend's past choices, such as naming a pet turtle Opapale.

On Reddit, the user recounted: "So one of my childhood friends recently told me she is having twins. She was so happy. I was happy for her. She already knows the gender. So the subject came up. I asked what is she going to name the baby .

"She said her and her husband have not picked a name yet because he won't agree on the names she wants. I was pretty scared to ask since she named her turtle Opapale (pronounced opal). But I asked her what are the names.

"For the girl she wants to name her Fenta Nelle (yes, like the drug) and for the boy Zoloff (also like the drug)."

The Reddit post also included some background information about the couple.

The woman added: "So backstory for this couple. 5 years ago after she went to rehab she was very depressed and had unaliving thoughts. So her mom locked her up in the psychward.

"This is where she met her Husband. He works there. He felt bad for her there and kept sneaking her things like her phone and a tablet. He also brought her outside food. While there she was diagnosed with major depressive disorder. So then was given some meds and was sent home."

She felt prompted to intervene when her friend considered giving her children unusual names.

She wrote: "I told her she is setting up her kids for bullying and not being able to be hired. I told her why not just name the girl Nelle and the boy Kristophe. Those names are similar to what she wants."

The friend's reaction was of anger: "She got mad and said that no one cares about her and her feelings. She was being irrational. She said she wants nothing to do with me anymore. I would be bothered but she does this all the time."

The conflicted woman asked: "But was I wrong for judging these names?"

Reddit users voiced their thoughts on the situation.

One user highlighted a concern separate from the naming issue: "Are we not going to talk about how they met when she was being psychiatrically evaluated and married 6 months after she was released? No one else feels weird about that? I know it's about her terrible name choices but that seems a little nightingale syndrome and hero syndrome. Obviously her name choices are absolutely awful."

Someone else added their two cents: ".....is it possible, nay probable that your childhood friend's brain might just be a hodgepodge of C2 narcotics interacting with each other by firing off random neurons and synapses because that's one of the stupidest tragedeighs I've read in a while."

Another person weighed in: "That's straight-up child abuse. Maybe social services should get a call if she goes through with it."
