    Pennsylvania man who stabbed neighbor to death after row over loud snoring jailed

    A Pennsylvania man has been handed a jail sentence after admitting to involuntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of his neighbor, which was reportedly over loud snoring .

    Christopher Casey was sentenced last week in Montgomery County Court to between 11 and a half and 23 months in county jail, followed by three years' probation.

    This came after the 56-year-old from Upper Morland pleaded guilty to the manslaughter charge and possession of an instrument of crime .

    Originally, Casey was charged with third-degree murder for the death of 62-year-old Robert Wallace on January 14, 2024. Wallace lived next door in a duplex and shared a common wall with Casey.

    Prosecutors stated that Casey stabbed Wallace after the latter pushed in his first-floor window and threatened to kill him due to his snoring .

    The victim's family said that he had been unable to sleep because of the noise , which had affected his life and ability to work. In court, Casey apologized to them, and called the deadly argument "unfortunate".

    James Lyons, the defence attorney, said multiple threats had been made on his client's life . He described Casey as "a really good man who was not equipped to deal with this type of sustained abuse and threats."
