Five individuals have been arrested in relation to the overdose death of Matthew Perry , including two doctors and his assistant.

The beloved Friends actor was only 54 when he was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home's hot tub on Oct. 28, 2023.

Perry, who left behind a personal fortune exceeding $1.5million, died from the acute effects of ketamine , an anaesthetic with psychedelic properties.

Several drug dealers, including one infamous figure known as the "Ketamine Queen", have also been apprehended. All of these individuals were reportedly close to the actor as he descended further into his addiction.

Law enforcement stated that they "executed search warrants and seized computers, phones and other electronic equipment" to identify who supplied Perry with the ketamine that led to him losing consciousness and drowning in his hot tub.

In a press conference following the arrests, United States Attorney Martin Estrada revealed that the investigation ultimately uncovered a "broad underground criminal network responsible for distributing large quantity of ketamine to Perry and others."

Perry had been receiving ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression, but his last therapy session was a week and a half prior to his death.

It's been uncovered that the ketamine found in his system upon being discovered lifeless at his Los Angeles abode hadn't been prescribed. At a gripping press conference, officials dropped the bombshell that certain anonymous doctors, who had supplied the drug, attempted to "falsify" medical records to hide their involvement.

They were accused of exploiting their licenses and access to ketamine for financial benefit.

At his passing, he had an amount of ketamine in his bloodstream comparable to doses used for general anaesthesia during surgery.

Insiders connected to TMZ divulged that after apprehensions were made, a search warrant brought to light text messages and emails that contained discussions about Perry and his requests for ketamine, not omitting the efforts to secure and provide him with it.

The messages also included negotiations over the price Perry would shell out for the substance, with one particularly insensitive comment reading: "I wonder how much this moron will pay?"

Back in May, local authorities started poring over the specifics of how Perry came by the fatal dose of ketamine.
