An altercation at a Florida bus stop took a wild turn when a girl's mom joined the fray, only to receive a blow from a Stanley Cup. Officers from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office responded to an incident at a Daytona North bus stop on August 15, where a summer argument carried into the new term.

Two teenage girls, fresh off the bus, decided to duke it out to resolve their spat . A now-viral video released by the sheriff's office captures the moment Kathryn Stephanopoulos, 34, steps into the fray and puts one of the lasses in a headlock, prompting a student to exclaim in shock, "Yo, not the mom!."

The skirmish intensified when Stephanopoulos' own daughter kicked off another squabble with a student trying to intercede. The post-fight drama saw the young girl turn against her mother, belting her square in the face with a metal cup.

A stunned pupil questioned, "Did she just hit her with a Stanley cup? " to which came the affirmation, "Yes, she did," followed by another bewildered response: "That's crazy!," reports the Daily Star .

Stephanopoulos was apprehended and booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility for her involvement in a brawl. A juvenile has been arrested for aggravated battery, and charges concerning another minor have been forwarded to the state attorney's office.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly commented on the incident: "Instead of deescalating the situation, we have a mother who jumped into the fray, setting a terrible example for her child and everyone at the bus stop," indicating his disapproval. "She certainly won't be winning mother of the year with these actions."

Sheriff Staly also added, "Parents need to set an example and not add to the problem. Luckily, no one was seriously injured, but now a mother is facing serious charges for losing control of her temper."
