A Texas family was killed by an alleged drunk driver this week , according to their family. A Fort Worth man, his girlfriend and her three children all lost their lives .

Willie Gunn and Amber Hopewell were driving on Monday night, just before 1 am. Hopewell’s three children aged 9, 4 and 2 years of age were also in the vehicle. According to Fort Worth police, a drunk 19-year-old driving a Camaro crashed into their car, causing it to burst into flames.

Police identified the driver as 19-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez , who was seemingly driving drunk at an extremely high rate of speed on I-35W.

Gonzalez’s vehicle slammed into the back of the family’s Sedan on the Seminary exit. Police found alcohol inside the car and investigators noticed that the driver smelled like alcohol and was slurring his speech. The results of a blood test are still pending.

First responders say everyone inside the burning vehicle died on scene, and it was difficult to determine the ages and identities of the victims. Gonzalez was transported to a hospital where he was treated and then booked into the Tarrant County jail, facing five counts of intoxication manslaughter.

The Gunn family have spoken out about losing Willie Gunn, his girlfriend and her children in such a tragic way.

"My stomach just keeps doing flips. Sometimes I am alright, and then I just get sick. It is making me sick," said Bobbie Tisby, Willie’s sister. "He took my brother’s life away because he just wanted to be drunk."

Willie leaves behind two children with his ex-wife.
