Outlander's Sophie Skelton has shared some unexpected details about the filming of the iconic Craigh Na Dun scenes . In the beloved Starz series, the saga kicks off when WWII nurse Claire Randall, portrayed by Caitriona Balfe , is transported back in time via the mystical stones.

She encounters Highlander Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan , and transforms into Claire Fraser, eventually becoming mother to their daughter Brianna, played by Sophie. What might astonish viewers is the reality behind how those crucial time-travel sequences are brought to life on screen.

Sophie even confessed that the cast sometimes can't help but laugh at what they have to do to make it seem like their characters are vanishing, reports the Express . A recent interview snippet with the actress was uploaded to Outlander 's official Instagram account as countless fans eagerly anticipate season seven's premiere.

"I'll try and give some funny things for you all to sit with to get you through Droughtlander," she said, using the endearing term fans coined for the show's infamously long breaks.

"There are some scenes, especially when we're going through the stones and stuff, that are always quite funny."

The Scottish actress explained that instead of relying on elaborate special effects, the actors portraying the Frasers use a bit of clever camera work to appear as if they're disappearing.

She elaborated: "When we do the big wide angle, of us going through the stones, we usually have to, as the camera pans around, we have to run around the other side of the stones."

"And when the camera comes back round, obviously, it reveals that nobody is there."

Her comments accompanied a charming compilation of behind-the-scenes clips with Sophie and her on-screen husband Richard Rankin, who plays Roger MacKenzie.

Even the young twins Andrew and Matthew, who share the role of Brianna and Roger's son Jemmy, joined in, giggling away as they had to sneak behind the stones for certain scenes.

Sophie shared a little secret about these moments: "Secretly, we've got the twins Andrew and Matthew, whichever one it may be in that take," she said.

"And Richard and me, all just kind of giggling behind the stones. So, I hope that doesn't take the magic out of it for you, but it's a nice little story."

A fan commented supportively: "It's IMPOSSIBLE to take the magic out of Outlander."

The anticipation is high among viewers, who are excitedly awaiting the final installments of season seven, set to premiere in just a few short months.
