Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler to team up against LIV stars for exciting TV event

Rory McIlroy is set to join forces with Scottie Scheffler and face off against LIV Golf personalities Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in a special TV matchup in Las Vegas .

Confirming his engagement in this much-anticipated event slated for mid-December , McIlroy will clash on the greens with two prominent LIV Golf figures, a venture he has vocally opposed since its 2022 launch.

Previously enduring a heart-wrenching defeat to DeChambeau at this year's US Open , the match-up carries a history of rivalry between the golf stars.

Speaking to Golfweek, McIlroy expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming contest: "I'm thrilled to partner with Scottie in what promises to be an exciting duel against Bryson and Brooks in Vegas this December."

TNT is geared up to televise proceedings, adding another chapter to their successful The Match exhibition series, which was initiated by Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson back in 2018.

According to Golfweek, the players are to pocket appearance fees but wont vie for a prize fund.
