No More on 64 Campaign - Waynesboro Police
DURING INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND, THE WAYNESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT IS PARTNERING WITH THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE TO PROMOTE NO MORE ON 64. FROM NOW UNTIL JULY 7TH, THE WAYNESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL JOIN A STATEWIDE EFFORT TO INCREASE ENFORCEMENT ALONG THE 404 MILES OF US HIGHWAY 64 FROM MEMPHIS TO THE NORTH CAROLINA BORDER. DURING THESE 64 HOURS OF ENFORCEMENT, OFFICERS ACRSOSS THE STATE AND THE WAYNESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL INCREASE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT ON HIGHWAY 64 IN AN EFFORT TO RAISE AWARENESS AND HELP REDUCE TRAFFIC FATALITIES DURING THE INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND.
Not just dengue: Over a third of U.S. states have detected West Nile virus
Over a third of U.S. states have detected the West Nile virus so far this year, as mosquito-transmitted diseases continue to grow their presence in the country. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, seven human cases were confirmed across seven states as of June 25. They took place in Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi and Tennessee. The rest were seen in mosquitoes, birds or other animals.
