ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A two-and-a-half story apartment building caught fire on North Goodman Street in Irondequoit, injuring one and displacing two more people Sunday.

According to Irondequoit Fire Department, the bulk of the fire was in the attic of the apartment building located on North Goodman Street between Norton Street and Reynolds Avenue.

One resident of the building was able to escape, another transported to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Firefighters also say they safely removed two pets from the building. Due to damage throughout all three apartments, the building has been deemed unlivable.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but IFD notes the fire did take place near a mattress.
