Previewing the Jaguars' 2024 Season - Defense and Special Teams
Along with the seismic change in South Alabama football that was the loss of head coach Kane Wommack to Alabama to be their defensive coordinator, USA also lost its own defensive coordinator, Corey Batoon, to Missouri. Despite significant changes among the offensive staff, new head coach Major Applewhite could guarantee continuity there as he had handled that side of the team for Wommack, but on defense he needed someone that he trusted to run the same successful scheme that Wommack had designed and installed.
