Medal of Honor splash pad reopens after repairs
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — The splash pad at Medal of Honor Park reopened Thursday. For the past few weeks, the splash pad has had no visitors as the city completed repairs. “We came here when it was working for a little bit. It worked for like a few days and then it stopped. We were so upset, and we live close by, so we are here at medal of honor park like every day,” said Alfredo Chavez, a resident.
USA and USA Health awarded grant to study race-based disparities in autism care
The grant will support the investigation of issues regarding social justice in social stratification, health disparities, environmental justice, and racial equity. Sara Garcia Shank, M.D., FAAP, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician with USA Health Pediatrics, and assistant professor of pediatrics in the Whiddon College of Medicine, will serve as a co-primary investigator for an internal research grant with colleagues from the University of South Alabama. Jordan Albright, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist, and assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at USA, will serve as primary investigator.
