Lake County, FL. - According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, it is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that Lake County Sheriff Peyton C. Grinnell, on behalf of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, announces the passing of one of our own. Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Michael Link died heroically in the line of duty overnight while serving his community and fellow deputies. The incident occurred during a response to a disturbance call in the northeast portion of rural Eustis, where two other deputies were also shot.
Master Deputy Link, 28, began his journey with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office as a young Explorer. A proud graduate of Lake Minneola High School, he served in the Army Reserves before being hired as a deputy sheriff by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in 2017. In October 2019, Master Deputy Link joined the Lake County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy sheriff. He quickly became a beloved member of the agency, serving the citizens with courage and dedication. Known affectionately as Brad by his colleagues, he touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to work with him. His contributions and the impact of this loss will not soon be forgotten.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, during this time of tremendous loss, prayers for Master Deputy Link’s wife, Brittney, and his parents, Christi and Daniel, are greatly appreciated. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office also seeks support for the entire agency and the community that Master Deputy Link so faithfully served.
Sheriff Grinnell expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event, emphasizing the bravery and commitment exhibited by Master Deputy Link throughout his career. His heroic actions and dedication to duty will be remembered and honored by all who knew him.
